Gull has just under 100 sites and for the last ten years, five have sold Gull Diesel Max; a biodiesel blend that combines mineral diesel with up to 5% biodiesel.

Gull biodiesel was originally a New Zealand produced fuel product, made primarily from Used Cooking Oil (UCO) and occasionally animals fats known as tallow.

Over the last six years, Gull’s biodiesel has been imported from a long-established Australian producer as consistent domestic supply became harder to find. In recent years, even securing regular import supply has become difficult and with the lack of scale, viable options to automate the blending process have been limited.

To go with challenges in consistent supply, the cost of the biodiesel product is significantly greater than mineral diesel and so Gull reluctantly made the decision to discontinue the blend. Gull Diesel Max is now unavailable to purchase from Gull for the foreseeable future.

Gull Diesel Max combines our state of the art Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel with renewable fuel (biodiesel) to give you a blend of performance and lower carbon dioxide emissions.

The biodiesel in Gull Diesel Max is a renewable fuel that is manufactured from used cooking oil or tallow (a hard fatty substance made from rendered animal fat) to meet or exceed New Zealand fuel regulations, as well as international specifications. Gull Diesel Max incorporates up to 5% biodiesel and is warranted to meet the New Zealand Governments regulations for diesel.

Biodiesel in any blend improves the lubricity of all diesel for smoother flow through your fuel system and engine.
